We are a fast information society. Road rage has gotten worse because our meals can be ordered and delivered to us in a matter of minutes, information from around the world (on any subject) is available at our fingertips, and we all find short cuts to make our life easier and more efficient.
Who wants to be sitting in traffic?
While there are some things our tech society hasn’t been able to give us (no traffic) there are some things it has.
Up until a few years ago, weight loss was a mystery because one size does not fit all. While I have successfully worked with my clients on weight loss for the past 20 years, I did find that certain people posed challenges as far as how quickly they lost weight and the ease of the diet for them. The biggest challenges came from my clients over the age of 40. We pushed through and they would eventually hit their mark, but it wasn’t without blood, sweat and tears.
I love answering questions on Quora. One of the questions I am asked the most is about how fast can you lose weight safely. My answer is always pretty dang fast. While others answering the questions promote the 4 pound a month theory.
By the time people are ready to lose weight, years of excess weight has taken its toll. Very few people want to lose weight at a slow speed.
The fact is that they are sick of being fat and sick. They have made a decision and they want the weight gone…yesterday.
While I don’t have a time machine, I have found a way to lose weight at super speed that leaves your body healthy and you happy.
I don’t like supplements or weight loss drugs because I don’t think that is the healthy route for your body. I am a big supporter of fasting, feasting, and natural foods. Across the board, for people under 40 years of age, I would see people lose 2 pounds a day easily.
My over 40 clients would see 1 pound a day with more (and longer) plateaus than my younger clients.
If fast weight loss wasn’t healthy, your body wouldn’t release fat that quickly. If people really understood how bad excess weight is for you body, they would never fall into the trap of thinking 1-2 lbs of weight loss a week is healthy.
The reality is that every minute you are staying overweight is one minute more that your body is struggling and your genes are expressing in an unhealthy manner.
I don’t know about you but I don’t have time for that. My life is devoted to helping people and success. Unhealthy genes slowing me down doesn’t have a place in my life.
Your body has wisdom. We’ve been taught fat too long to ignore that wisdom.
I had my big ah ha moment when I re-evaluated my genetic testing results. My results showed that I lose weight 2.5% faster on a low fat diet. I always wondered why I felt best on a high fruit, low fat diet.
I also found that my body tends to store mucous, which is why whenever I detoxed using the Master Cleanse I would feel like I was on Cloud 9 and winning at life. Cayenne pepper and lemon/lime removes mucous and stimulates the lymphatic system, which is very important for health, vitality and weight loss.
I found that I do not carry genes for digestive issues so I never had a problem on raw foods, although I have worked with other people that I had to slowly work into raw foods due to their digestion weakness.
I found out through my genes that I am at my best physically with cardio type of activities and heavy weight lifting wasn’t good for me. I have a defect in my slow twitch muscles so high impact doesn’t work well for me. I had been working out wrong almost my entire adult life. A few tweaks to my exercise routine changed things dramatically for me.
I also found that I have some mutations in my genes that regulate D3, B12, and Iron which explained why I didn’t feel like I had as much energy as I should. I addressed that and now don’t have the same lethargic feeling.
Knowing what my genes were helped me to scale my own health program to a whole new level. When my clients and I worked with their genes, we broke through the issues of struggling with weight loss and the fat fell off with ease.
And they were no longer working against their body.
